Velocity Financial Services is a mortgage brokerage licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Banking. It was established in 2001 to provide people searching for mortgages with an efficient, professional solution to their mortgage needs. The founder, who had worked for several large corporate mortgage lenders, found that his management philosophy differed from the large “corporate” philosophy. The corporations had many unnecessary management layers and unneeded employees. He believed instead his lean low cost management style could provide mortgage customers with quicker services, better rates, and personalized service.
A mortgage broker has access to loans or “products” of many banks and national lenders. These products are not accessible to the common consumer. Lenders (such as a bank) have access to only their own loans. The advantage of using a broker over a lender is “one-stop shopping.” The broker can “shop” your application for the best rate for both customers with excellent credit and customers who have damaged credit and unique situations. The small size of the brokerage also leads to quick, efficient service.
